Love as a commandment

Caring for your neighbor

The principle of “loving one another” was to emphasise selfless, sacrificial, considerate and forgiving love. John interpreted the new commandment of Jesus, enabling the disciples to have a deeper understanding of its immanence. ... Jesus told us to love one another, just as he had loved us.

About Us

How We're Helping

We are a family friendly church focused on helping make the world around us a better place with Christ by reaching out to those looking for hope.

About us and how you can be involved

Today there is so much to do before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are a dedicated church that meets every Sunday morning at 10 am for praise and worship and every Wednesday night in bible study to increase our knowledge and relationship with God. We also have monthly movie nights and various fellowships of encouragement. We are sponsors of the Billy Graham association and support all forms of support to the Samaritan Purse in providing for the needy and the outcasts of society. Link provided below to get involved today.  More information is available on our Facebook page "HOPE for hard times"

Core Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Bible as originally given to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God ( 2Tim.3:16; 2Pet.1:21)

The Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Gen1:1; Mt.28:19; Jn.10:30).

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ.  (Jn.10:33)

His virgin birth (Is.7:14; Mt.1:23; Lu.1:35)

His sinless life (Heb.4:15; 7:26)

His miracles (Jn.2:11)

His vicarious atoning death (1Cor.15:4)

His bodily resurrection (Jn.11:25)

His ascension to the right hand of God (Mk.16:19)

His personal return in power and glory (Acts1:11; Rev.19:11)

Salvation

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by grace and through faith alone are we saved. (Jn.3:16-19; Rom.3:23; 5:8-9; Eph.2:8-10; Titus3:5)

Baptism

We believe in water baptism in order to fulfill the command of Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:37-38) To learn more about baptism, click here.

Communion

We believe in the breaking of bread commonly called communion or the Lord’s Supper for believers. (I Corinthians 11:23-26)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling and continuous filling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and is empowered with gifts of the Spirit as He wills. (Acts1:5-8; Rom.8:13-14; 1Cor.3:16; 1Cor.12-14)

Satan

We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and the eternal judgment of Satan and his angels. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15)

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation. (Jn.5:28-29)

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom.8:9; 1Cor.12:12-13; Gal.3:26-28)

Meet our Pastor

Welcome to the Open Door Bible Church website. I am glad you have chosen to spend a few moments looking around, discovering our church family. As I describe Open Door to people, I use words like ‘community’ and ‘family.’

We are a group of people committed to following Jesus. That means we worship him with vigor and joy. That means we encourage prayer in church and throughout life. That means we love people outside the church through generosity, invitation, and compassion.

Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at Open Door. And once here, we pray that people will meet God and as a result of meeting God, give their lives to Jesus Christ. We want that for you. Come as you are. Check us out, but more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus.

While you are browsing our website, you will learn about our church and get a glimpse of who we are, but only a glimpse. To fully understand us, come to a worship service and feel the up-close, in-person fellowship that comes when people share time together with the Holy Spirit present. Enjoy the website, then come. We’d love to meet you and know you.

Pastor Paul Anthony

OUR MAIN DESIRE

Our main desire is for everyone to know Jesus. This goes beyond just knowing about Jesus or following his teachings, but actually walking with the living God. We want to help all people discover they can have this relationship, no matter who they are or what they have done. All of us need a savior and were created to know and be known by God.

The Bible tells us that this relationship is not supposed to be lived in isolation from others. When we believe and are joined to Christ we become a part of his Body, the church (1 Cor. 12:12-13).

In these relationships with others, we not only help each other develop in relationship with Jesus, but we also learn to be an expression of Jesus to one another. It is as we live in community, where we encourage, challenge, strengthen, love, and forgive one another that our relationship with God develops and matures.
